Real Action for Save Our Culture.

And all of my beloved friends.
Assalamu’alaikum Wr. Wb.
Good Morning.
First of all, I would like to say thanks to Allah the Almighty for giving me the opportunity to come here and to deliver my speech in this contest. And I’m so grateful to the committe of this contest and all of my friends for your coming here. Thankyou.
And before, allow me to introduce my self. My name is Sari Ramadhani and I’m from Health Analyst, especially to representative all of my friends in the first grade, regular pemprov class. And for this contest, I take a theme from “Claim of Indonesian Culture” with the title “Real Action for Save Our Culture”.
As we know that, Indonesia is one of the country in this world with many kind of culture. Because it’s culture, many tourist come to here just want to learn more about our culture. Even in Australia, Bahasa is one of the important lesson there. It’s Great!
But recently, precisely last year, Malaysia once again claim our culture by claiming Pendet Bali as Malaysia’s traditional dance. This claim of course made many Indonesians angry and protest to Malaysia’s Government, especially, the dance was inserted into Malaysia Tourism Commercial Break. Although this problem was over, can we forget it?
Of course we can angry and protest to Malaysia for their claims to show our love to Indonesia’s culture. But now the questions, really we love our culture? How much? Are we like a child? A chlid with many toys, until he’s not aware with his toys and forget it. And when one of his toys is taken his friends, he’ll angry and will take many effort for his toys. But, after it, they’ll not play it.
Culture is a country’s identity. Do you want if our country called as country without identity? Have ever we did something for save our culture? I’m sure, the most answer from us is “Nothing”!
Ok, lets try analysis this problem! The first, we can see from teen-agers. They just love foreign music, like pop, rock, reggae, punk, underground, R n B, heavy metal and many more, every day in TV. But if we ask about our traditional music, they’re not understand.
Sometimes, we enjoy enough when watching traditional dance. But, do we know about history from that dance? Is there a willing to learn it more? like tourists want to learn our culture? In our mind, sometimes when we talk about save our culture, we’ll say : It’s not my duty, I’m an Analyst or I’m a nurse. So, whom will care our culture? Would we wait others country claim our culture again? Or we wait UNESCO give many donation to us? It’s impossible.
Malaysia, maybe think Indonesian is weak and never care their culture. So, they so brave to claim our culture. Now, what the real action can we do? The first, we must know about our culture, how it’s history and maybe we can try it, how its sing, how its dance or maybe how play the traditional instruments.
And then, we can together to publish what we know about our culture with all of media, maybe by internet. We can make a blog about our cultures. Or maybe if we can’t, we can publish it by facebook. It’s so simple. It’s useful than we publish foolish video or talking about unuseful something. And we can start it now from East Kalimantan Cultures. If now, we’re familiar enough for dance and sing, now, why not we try to learn about our carving? Why so rarely we hear about it, even, the competition about it.
So if we think we have already do many effort for save our culture. Now, it’s time for government to make a more priority in cultures budget. And also, the government must take strategic plans to collect and register our cultures. And finally, how we show it to the world more attractive and make them surprised with us.
So, than we angry to others country and get nothing. Now, lets show our love to Indonesia’s cultures with real action and show to the world that Indonesia is a country with many kind of beauty cultures.
